An older version will not install
If a newer version is already on the phone, Android will not put an older APK over it. People call that a version downgrade.
- If you want to keep the newer version, do not install the old file.
- If you need to go back, remove the app first. The data inside goes away.
- The number that counts is not the 1.2 name on the screen. It is the version code inside the package.
If you remove an app that came from Play and put a side-loaded APK in its place, purchases and the account may not stay inside.
