How to convert PDF to Word for free

You do not need to install software or open an account to turn a PDF into a Word (DOCX) file. The PDF to Word tool on Nibras Code reads the file right in your browser and builds a DOCX file. The file is not sent to a server; the work happens on your phone or computer.

The tool moves the text and line breaks into Word. Images, tables and complex layout are not carried over. The result is clean text for editing, not an exact copy of the original. A scanned PDF (pages that are pictures) has no text layer, so the tool runs OCR, text recognition from images. OCR reads Azerbaijani, English, Russian, Turkish and Arabic, but a poor scan can produce wrong letters.

  • Step 1: open nibrascode.com/en/pdf/pdf-word.
  • Step 2: choose the PDF. If it has a password, the tool asks for it.
  • Step 3: when conversion ends, press DOCX and download the file.
  • Step 4: open it in Word, Google Docs or WPS and check the layout.
  • If you only need text, the PDF to text tool gives a TXT file.
  • If you work on your phone a lot, the Nibras PDF Android app has PDF to Word and other tools too.

For official papers (contracts, certificates) always compare numbers, names and dates with the original after converting. OCR text can misread letters such as «ə», «ı» or «ğ».

About this tool

PDFs are handy for printing and sharing, but editing their text is hard. That is why people want to move a certificate, essay, draft contract or book chapter into Word. The Nibras Code PDF to Word tool does this inside the browser: PDF.js reads the text, when needed the Tesseract OCR engine is loaded from the site's own server and runs on your device, and the result is assembled as a DOCX file.

The upside is privacy: your file is not sent to any service. The downside is that the tool moves text, not layout. A document with many tables, columns or images may need tidying by hand. On a weak phone, large files can be slow.

How to use it

  1. Open the PDF to Word tool.
  2. Choose the file and enter the password if it has one.
  3. Wait for conversion and OCR if needed.
  4. Download the DOCX and open it in Word or Google Docs.
