1. Summary

Nibras Scan is a document scanner. Everything you scan is processed and stored on your device. We do not run servers for this app, we do not create accounts and we do not show ads. We do not collect, sell or share your personal data.

2. Information we do not collect

The developer does not collect or receive your name, e-mail, location, contacts, device identifiers, analytics data, or the content of your scans. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.

3. Data stored on your device

The app stores the following only in its private storage on your device: photos of pages you scan (temporary), the PDF documents and folders you create, text recognised on the device so you can search inside documents (OCR index), the image of the signature you draw (so you can reuse it), your QR/barcode scan history, and your app settings (filter, PDF quality, OCR language, sort order). Passwords you put on PDFs are never stored. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it. You can delete it at any time via Settings → Delete all data, clear the QR history via History → Clear, or uninstall the app.

4. Permissions

The camera is used only to photograph the documents you want to scan and to read QR codes/barcodes. Images are not uploaded anywhere. The app does not request the internet permission and does not send your data over the internet; the text-recognition and barcode models are bundled inside the app. Files are read only from the images and PDFs you pick through Android's picker; no broad storage permission is requested.

5. Third-party components

Google ML Kit recognises text (OCR) and QR codes/barcodes on your device; the models ship with the app and your images are not sent to Google. Google ML Kit may process limited technical diagnostics as described in the ML Kit data disclosure and Google Privacy Policy. Tesseract OCR (open source) recognises Arabic text, OpenCV detects document edges, and PdfBox-Android creates and password-protects PDFs — all fully offline on your device.

6. Sharing

A document leaves the app only when you explicitly share it or open it in another app using Android's share sheet. What that other app does with the file is governed by its own privacy policy.

7. Retention and deletion

Your documents stay on your device until you delete them. Use Settings → Delete all data to remove all documents and temporary images. Uninstalling the app removes all app data. Because we do not hold your data on any server, there is nothing for us to delete remotely.

8. Children

Nibras Scan is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

9. Security

Your files are kept in the app's private storage, protected by Android's app sandbox. No method of storage is perfectly secure. Please protect your device with a screen lock.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date and publish the new version in the app and on this page.
