Nibras Nova is a web browser made by Nibras Code. It has no user accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash-reporting SDKs. Everything you create in the app (history, bookmarks, tabs, settings, notes, vault items) is stored only on your device. We, the developer, do not receive or store any of your data.
• Browsing history, bookmarks, open tabs, quick links, downloads list, RSS feeds, page monitors, notes/highlights, user scripts and settings (in a local database and app preferences). • Private-tab browsing is not written to history. • Vault items and backups you create are encrypted (AES-256) with a key or password that stays on your device. • Android cloud backup of app data is disabled; data leaves the device only if you export it yourself (bookmark HTML export, encrypted backup file, Wi-Fi transfer). • You can delete everything at any time: clear history, use “Panic wipe”, or uninstall the app.
• Websites you open: your device connects to them directly, as in any browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies. • Search: what you type in the address bar is sent to the search engine you selected (DuckDuckGo by default; Google, Bing, Brave, Startpage or a custom one). • Secure DNS (optional): if you turn on DNS-over-HTTPS, domain lookups go to the provider you choose (Cloudflare, Quad9 or AdGuard). A proxy, if you set one, receives your traffic. • Page translation: “Translate page” opens the page through Google Translate (translate.google.com), which receives the page address. Text translation uses Google ML Kit on the device; language models are downloaded from Google once, and the text itself is translated on the device. • Safe Browsing: Android System WebView may check addresses against Google Safe Browsing to warn about dangerous sites. • RSS feeds and page monitors fetch only the addresses you add. • Wi-Fi transfer runs a temporary server on your local network only while the transfer screen is open; nothing goes through the internet.
• Internet / network state: to load web pages. • Camera: only to scan QR codes and when a website asks for the camera (you are asked first). • Microphone: only when a website asks for it, e.g. a video call (you are asked first). • Location: only when a website asks for your location (you are asked first). The app itself does not collect location. • Notifications: to show download progress and page-monitor alerts. • Biometrics: to unlock the private vault and private tabs; your fingerprint/face data never leaves Android's secure hardware. • Storage (older Android only): to save downloaded files. • Wi-Fi state: to show your local address for Wi-Fi transfer.
