If the command is not recognized

Version to install

Java 25 LTS, the Eclipse Temurin JDK. Java 27 is a six-month release, so do not install it.

Steps on Windows

  1. Open https://adoptium.net/temurin/releases/?version=25.
  2. Choose Windows, x64, JDK, .msi, and download it.
  3. Open the file and install it.
  4. Close the terminal and open a new one.
  5. Type java -version.

Check

The answer should show 25.

Difference from the old version

Java 21 is the older LTS. For a new setup, take 25.
