Could not resolve a dependency
Error text
Could not resolve com.squareup.okhttp3:okhttp:4.12.0. Required by: project :app
Cause
Gradle could not find the named library in any repository. The name, the version, or the repository list is wrong.
Step-by-step fix
- Check group, name and version letter by letter; one typo is enough.
- If the library lives outside Google and Maven Central (for example on JitPack), add its
maven { url ... }line. - Check the network: does the repository address open in a browser?
- Run
./gradlew build --refresh-dependencies. - If you wrote a floating version (
+), replace it with an exact number.
Example commands
./gradlew :app:dependencies | grep -i okhttp ./gradlew build --offline # ancaq yerli keşlə yoxlamaq üçün
How to prevent it
Always pin exact versions. A + makes the same build behave differently on different days.
