Play: 64-bit requirement

Error text

This release does not comply with the 64-bit requirement: your APK or bundle includes native libraries for armeabi-v7a but no 64-bit versions (arm64-v8a).

Cause

The app contains only 32-bit native libraries. Play requires a 64-bit version too.

Step-by-step fix

  1. See which lib/ folders the AAB has with unzip -l.
  2. If you have your own C/C++ code, build it for arm64-v8a as well.
  3. Find 64-bit builds of third-party .so files or update the library.
  4. Make sure arm64-v8a is not filtered out in abiFilters.
  5. Upload the new AAB again.

Example commands

unzip -l app.aab | grep -E "lib/(arm64|armeabi|x86)"
android { defaultConfig { ndk { abiFilters += listOf("arm64-v8a", "armeabi-v7a") } } }
./gradlew bundleRelease

How to prevent it

When choosing native dependencies, ask about 64-bit support first.
